Update 2022

In 2021, we entered our truss into a contest in the U.K., where we were tasked with creating a pavilion roofing structure. The idea being that those chosen from among the many entrants would be invited to build their pavilions on the grounds of the organising university, in readiness for judging.  We costed out building our prototype, which we planned to assemble in Hawaii, and, because it is collapsible, pack into traveling crates for shipping to the U.K.  Unfortunately, Covid messed with those plans, and so the event went virtual.

We had nothing to show the judges, and so we invested in the talents of a young Computational Architect who created this animation showing our dynamic space truss being controlled by data points.

Having the remote capability to change the shape of a basic, structural platform, has applications in architecture, aerospace, construction, and other engineering disciplines.

More to come...
